NEAT volunteers work to accomplish the mission of the association by:

• Engaging Parents – In their roles and responsibilities in supporting student achievement, finding ways to connect with unengaged parents and strengthening relationships.
  
  
• Diversity & Language Barriers – Engage parents in community-based efforts to reduce the Achievement Gap and find ways to address the structural barriers for our non-English speaking parents.
  
  
• Parent Group & Site Council Operations - Facilitate communications, provide leadership training and networking opportunities, collaborate with community-based organizations to provide parenting skills training, develop and promote best practices.
  
  
• Strengthen Relationships – Develop resources and opportunities to strengthen relationships and communication among:
  – students-parents-teachers
  – parents-parent groups-site councils
  – parent groups-site councils-schools
  – parent leaders-district, and
  – parent leaders-schools-community
  focusing particularly on helping engaged parents build relationships across cultures.
