State Courts

State court decisions can affect school policies on school funding, materials, student access and assignments, civil liberties issues such as dress codes and drug testing, freedom of speech, religion and more. In the last 30 years state and federal courts also have issued many rulings defining the states’ responsibility for
providing free public schools and the distribution of available resources.
