May 2006 - Closing the Gap in Reading and Math: NAEP Trends Show Significant Positive Effects for Almost Half the States - Several states with relatively high overall scores at Basic level in Reading and Math e.g., above 78 percent (e.g. North Dakota, Vermont, and Minnesota) did not have significant gains in the scores of low income students, Council of Chief State School Officers.
