You can help your child succeed by providing a home that encourages learning, but what does that mean? First and foremost it means covering the basics:

• Clothing
• Shelter
• Transportation, and
• Medical Care

Once these "Safety & Security" needs are in place, parents can direct more energy toward helping their children learn.  The very first steps are to READ to children and provide a quiet place and regular time for homework.
